We were founded more than three decades ago with the idea that wealth management should be different. David Carmichael, an art history major, set out to build a firm distinct from the Wall Street banks and wirehouses. He created a firm that doesn’t accept commissions and only receives money directly from clients. When our clients are the only ones who pay us, our clients are the only ones we serve. They’re our exclusive focus and we move mountains to do what we believe is best for them. It’s called a fiduciary standard, and it means we treat our client’s money as if it were our own.
Thirty years on and things have evolved. David is retired. Our technology is light years ahead, our office has moved to a historic building in Old Town Gaithersburg, and there are a few more faces here than there were at the beginning. Our mission, however, remains the same: to develop enduring and authentic relationships by taking the guesswork out of retirement planning and investment management.
