For ALL artists, beginner to professional, who want to add colored pencils to their arsenal. In part 1 of the workshop, artists will explore the range amazing capabilities, uses and techniques of colored pencils through hands-on experimentation with various types or pencils and products. You will learn several blending methods and how to create a variety of textures. You will learn about surface and methods for image transfer. And begin a project which can be continued throughout the week and brought back to part 2 of the workshop. Colored pencils are very labor intensive and can be hard on the hands, so the workshop is continued the following week, giving the participants time to go home and work further on the project, do a homework assignment. The 2nd class will focus on important layering techniques, personal critique. We will also start a second project to take home. You must be pre-registered to attend (teens also welcome).
