February 2018 in the Galleries at A&M2 – Wilkins

Artists & Makers Studios 2 Presents
Personal Context – with Brian Fisher
with Patty Hankins

(Rockville, MD) – Artists & Makers Studios 2 on Wilkins Avenue in Rockville will present two exhibits in the main galleries for the month of February along with artists’ open studios. “Personal Context” with Brian Fisher shares a view into storytelling through perspective, light and shadow. Fisher is inspired by Rembrandt, Caravaggio, and Hopper for his use of light. This exhibit explores forgotten perspectives – innocence in the face of hardship, and touchstones that feel familiar with older and wiser eyes “Petals” with Patty Hankins’ mesmerizing floral photographs are featured in the Merge Gallery. Explore the intricate shapes, colors, patterns and textures found in these images of flower petals, and look forward to the Spring thaw.  “Black and White” a group show with the Montgomery County Camera Club shows in the hallway gallery, along with the Grand Opening of newly expanded Gallery 209 in the third floor gallery now with 22 member artists, as Arthur Harrison adds acoustic ambience with theremin music in the lounge. Resident artists’ open studios throughout the buildings will round out the evening.
